Used BMW Recalls and Repairs

Postby Grabsplatter » Sat Mar 21, 2009 4:53 pm

I am in the market, again, for a used BMW and would like to know if anyone knows how to find out if used one's have had recall repaired or not? Is there are website or something else available to cross-reference the actual cars serial # and see if any recall for that model has been completed? I know this sounds like a rather odd request but I just want to make sure I have covered all my options.

Thanks everyone

Any BMW dealer will be able to tell you if the car's recalls are up to date :-)

What if you are buying the car from either a private sale or a small used car dealer? I would hate to resort to taking down the serial number and then going over to my local dealer, asking them to reference it. I was just wondering if there was an alternate way.

I think that's just what you need to do. It's safety related so I'd be amazed if they withheld information.
