These binoculars have much larger than normal objective lenses. The large objectives give excellent low light performance. They're perfect for astronomy or scenic observation. Until you've used these you have no idea just how powerful binoculars can be. Small objects on a distant hillside come to life in a way you'd never have thought possible!
These have several eyepieces, 25x and 40x. But they're normal smoothbore 1.25" telescope eyepieces so you can fit anything you like including Barlows. Price includes a really well made 7x50 view finder which is a lovely instrument in it's own right.
The 45 degree angle of the eyepieces makes it much easier to view at higher elevations. It's also handy for terrestrial observation if the binoculars are shared by users of different heights.
They come complete with a sturdy polished aluminium carrying trunk and a tough wooden tripod. The fork mount is a popular addition and is 65+VAT extra. It lets the binoculars elevate to the zenith and is very popular with our customers.
With my own set at 40x I can just make out a space between hill walker's legs as the walk around the summit of Cairngorm - ten miles from my house as the crow flies!

View from my house, taken at 2x zoom on a fairly ancient digital camera a few years ago.
Taken by holding the camera to the 25x eyepiece.
And similarly for the 40x eyepiece.
